Lent at Bethany UMC

The season of Lent — a time of praying, fasting, and giving in the 40 days leading up to Easter — is important in the life of our church. It is a time to remember Christ’s journey to the cross and to anticipate His joyful and triumphant resurrection at Easter. We invite you and your family to be part of Lent at Bethany and hope you will participate in the following opportunities.

Join us for these special events and worship services:

Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. — Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. You and your family are invited to join us for a delicious fellowship meal in the Warren Belvin Fellowship Hall.

Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. — Ash Wednesday Service in the sanctuary.

Maundy Thursday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. — Chancel Choir Cantata. The Lenten Sketches by Joseph Martin will be performed by our Chancel Choir. This incredible work is a series of tableaus illustrating the pivotal final days of Christ’s earthly ministry: the triumphal entry, the Last Supper, the garden of Gethsemane, and the crucifixion. You will be truly blessed to see and hear this moving and inspiring cantata.
